The Certified Aglng-ln-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation indicates specialized training in design and remodeling of homes to make it possible, and much more comfortable, to remain in one's home throughout one's maturing years, safely and comfortably, regardless of age or ability level.
Recently, Jim and Libby Leutgen remodeled their master bathroom to allow them independence without having to move from their home. Just off the master bedroom, this master bath has walk-in closets that provides the couple with a place to sit to dress. The walk-in shower has a number of grab-bars strategically placed for confident bathing and was large enough that Libby could add a chair during her recovery. It has a removable shower head on one side and a fixed shower head on the other, which provides not only for the homeowner’s preference, but allows for assistance from in-home medical professionals if needed. Aligning adjoining the his-and-hers sink area on each side of the tub is custom-built cabinets with pull-out shelves that allow easy access without bending or straining to reach storage items. |
